Hey tumblr, have you ever thought to yourself, “dang it’d sure be cool to set a project in something other than the current times,” but when you go to look up references on google, all you get is a horrible historical pastiche of days gone by?
Well boy howdy, do I have a reference for you!
The Wishbook Web has scans of entire consumer catalogs from past decades, ranging from the early 30s to the late 80s. Each catalog has pages upon pages of reference of clothing, accessories, and shoes for all ages, as well as toys, gadgets, and all sorts of junk that you might buy for yourself or your loved ones. While the website exclusively has Christmas catalogs, the photos and illustrations show products that you could use year-round.
This is the sickest shit I’ve ever seen
This is so important. Know your elements before getting tatted. And if you are tatted you better have this shit memorized.

Someone requested a hand tutorial, so I rambled. I didn’t even get to everything I would like to, so here is a part!
Thanks. I’ve been consciously trying to get better at hands for ten years, and I still suck, so I’m always grateful for new tutorials. Someday, one diagram, one line is gonna click it for me. This one’s great.
*brings plastic knife to a gang fight*
Brittle, cheap plastic knives are actually pretty great weapons if you file the end down to a point, you can stab someone and then torque your wrist to shatter the plastic blade inside the wound. It’s pretty effective if you do it near a joint or in the gut as those places move a lot and cause the broken shards to shift around.

How to, step-by-step, make expressions mean different things by changing just one facial feature at a time. *shrug* I’m not very good at explaining how I do expressions, I just…feel out what kinds of muscles seem to fit and tweak those. And sometimes, ever so slightly, little adjustments could mean the difference between fury and euphoria.
A very important image
I’ve always wondered how ppl do this wow
